Capter 27 - Timing

Time was running short. I had to come up with a solution soon. How incredibly frustrating. If I was at home we could get a think tank working on this, we could probably bang out a solution in a month, but even then we wouldn't have enough time to implement it.

I picked up a loose piece of pipe and hurled it out into the swampy area. It's smooth long arch carried it down into the brush.

If it wasn't for the damn gravity, we could fly out there without using up all our fuel for lift off and get to it while it's far enough away. Then we could somehow use our engines to redirect it.

That got be thinking. Was there someway we could use gravity to our advantage. We did it all the time on all kinds of space flights. We used the gravity of the moon to sling our ships back to earth. Why couldn't we do something similar here?

If we had something big enough near the asteroid it's gravitational pull might be enough to bend the path of the asteroid and redirect it away from Terra Durom.

Crazy enough, it just might work. I ran back to the satellite terminal to figure out the timing of the event.
