Chapter 23 - Month

The next day I continued my research of the facility. It was another beautiful day. I found myself becoming increasingly attached to Terra Durom.

I began to wonder if I gathered enough information, I could use it to leverage me out of the predicament I got myself into by stowing away. One can dream, but it was definitely extra motivation to keep working.

I drove back out to the chopper that morning. I had cleared a landing spot near the sphere. I wanted the chopper close by in case I had to get away for whatever reason.

It was nice to have all my food supplies close at hand again. I found I got lost in my exploration and didn't realize that I was hungry until I was really hungry.

I continued my systematic research. I started exploring their satellite terminal. It seems that their network of satellites was much more intricate than our own. I assumed it was because the data they gathered was essential to transporting anything to the correct location.

Some of the satellites had strange names. They looked like commercial gps satellites. Strange that these would be a part of this network. I wondered if they began incorporating them for extra data for some reason. This may explain why the choppers gps was acting so weird.

The long range satellite terminal seemed to be used for tracking different objects on the outskirts of the solar system. With a few key strokes I was able to find the asteroid that was coming towards Terra Durom. I don't know if I was reading it correctly , but it seemed like it would intersect Terra Durom's orbit within the month. That was a little distressing.

I decided that I needed to speed up my research and get back to the crew.
