In the end we decided that we had to send a pilot up there. The communication delay would be too great. This caused a great problem though, we would have no means to transport the craft back once it completed it's mission. The pilot and the craft would have to travel through space until they could finally return.
After much debate the Captain decided that he would pilot the ship. Ultimately he had to pull rank and tell us how the situation would be.
We went to the tower to find as many supplies as possible. We had to prepare the captain for a long flight home. We brought everything back to the craft and loaded it up. We also had to set up all the oxygen tanks that were meant for space walks so that he would have air to breath during his return flight.
Everything we added changed the mass of the ship and we were forced to redo the calculations. But it seemed we had a plan.
Transport would be at noon tomorrow.
